1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has a lot to offer at a modest price and is one of the most simple robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and the quick-start guide will get you running with a clean and complete dust bag, floor solution for hard floors and water tank in no time at all.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. The mops are spun at a high rate and employ 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to get rid of pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a selection of attachments and brushes, and a user-friendly app that lets you pick the exact kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.
You can, for example, ask the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly but leave the spare bedroom alone. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models can't. Its only issue is that it tends to hit walls and objects at full speed. However an inspection of the cleaning history on the app will reveal exactly what the robot completed, where it's going, and which obstacles he has run into or avoided.
The docking station has an LCD display that displays the time when maintenance is required like emptying the debris and washing the water tank that is dirty. It also mixes detergent into the tank in a controlled manner with a 600ml of eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum come with a long-running time. The mop can operate for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode and the vacuum can last 136 mins in normal mode, before having to recharge or returning to the base. The app is easy to use and intuitive, allowing you to view every aspect of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the most recent version of the company's top robot mop and vacuum. In contrast to the model of last year it comes with an agitator that doubles in its mopping pad, which greatly improves carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction capacity that allows it to pick up smaller hairs and other particles other robotic cleaners may miss.
This Roborock model, like the other two I tried, has infrared and reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it avoid obstacles such as furniture, walls and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by adding a dual camera which can recognize objects and determine whether they're an object that is a wall or a different surface. It then can alter its course in a way that is automatic and clean around the objects without missing a step.
It's the most expensive robot I've ever tested, but it also has the most features. Its sleek, angular design is eye-catching and it only has three physical buttons: the power button, that also resumes cleaning; a mop-only button that doubles as a child lock; and a home button that can send the robot back to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid, you will find a 350ml dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank automatically emptys and the bin fills up automatically.
The only issue I have discovered with this model is that the VibraRise mop pad mount isn't removable. It is possible to change the mopping cloth if required, but it's a challenge to take the mount off for washing manually. I've found that any plush carpet that the robot passes will be in contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, which can cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart capabilities, including support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app is where you can manage and set up these advanced features. It also contains maps and advanced mopping options. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings, monitor the battery life and maintain your components. You'll need to go through a few steps to enable voice control on this model. It's a shame, considering how efficient it is otherwise.
3. Dreame X40

4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available. However, it has a number of features that make it stand out. The mops come with a brand new feature called Smart DuoScrub that utilizes two mops that are high-speed to clean floors more thoroughly than the standard method, and has an impressive suction power of 7,000Pa. This is higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also remove pet hair, small dirt particles and pick up spills and soiled spots.
The mop is cleaned and dried in the base station each time they are used. This feature is great because it stops mould and unpleasant odours that can build up in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a system we've yet to see on other robot vacuums and mop models and it could be a useful way of keeping your home hygienic for longer.
There's a plethora of settings on offer which include the ability to schedule cleaning times and adjust a number of different preferences. The app allows you to set these preferences or you can make use of the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and provides a variety of options for customising the cleaning routine. Additionally, there are many functions that other robots don't have - such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power whenever it detects dust particles instead of relying on a manual setting.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most stylish robots we've seen on the market, with a white and metallic design that is elegant and stylish. It's a bit heavier at 4kg than the other robots on this list but it's not excessively heavy. It feels solid and well-constructed. The mopping system is also well-designed, and the double rotating mop is a great choice for hard floors or in corners. They can even extend to 2mm baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature, which is a nice touch.
